Where will the newborn session be held? All newborn sessions are held our home studio located in the beautiful Countryside are of Clearwater. We know how delicate and fragile newborns are and we provide you with a germ-free, warm, and quiet environment so your baby will be safe and comfortable. Unlike commercial studios, like those found in malls and shopping centers, we cater to newborns. Avoid all the stress that comes with taking a newborn to a public place and let Baby Rock make you feel right at home.
When should Ibook my newborn session? The sooner the better! We book up months in advance so please book your session as soon as possible. We know whatever date we choose will most likely change, but doing so will get you on the schedule to secure the spot once baby arrives.
When are newborn photos taken? Skip the classroom lighting, hospital pics and just come see the professionals! True newborn photos will be taken anytime from birth to about 2 weeks, preferably just a few days old, while their umbilical stump is still present. We do make exceptions for this rule is if the baby is in the NICU for an extended period of time. Does Baby Rock Photography provide props? Yes! We provide the props, wraps, hats, headbands, flowers, buckets, planes…anything you can think of! We have tons of props here at Baby Rock. However, you are more than welcome to bring any items that you would like incorporated into your photos. Some parents have brought family heirlooms, sports memorabilia, wedding veils, rings or a souvenir from their honeymoon to help add a personal touch.
How long does a newborn photo session last? Just like every baby is different so is every session. Newborn studio sessions usually last between 1-3 hours. Are other people allowed to be photographed during a newborn session? Absolutely! We would be happy to capture a few poses with you and your immediate family. Generally if works best for them to come in the beginning of the session so they can get the photos with baby and then return to work or school while we capture the rest of the session.
But doesn’t the hospital provide pictures? Why wouldn’t I just have them do it? Many new moms will get pressured into doing newborn photos at the hospital by someone who shows up with a camera unannounced. These photos that the hospital photographer takes are not edited to remove blotchy skin, do not include any many props to choose from and usually run upwards of $300. The photographer is not going to take 2 -3 hours to make sure you get pictures like those you see on this website. We work patiently and with love when we photograph your baby.
How long does it take to receive my images? Because we hand edit each image and take time to create a personalized in studio viewing and ordering experience, you can expect your images to be ready 5-10 business days following your session. We know the wait is tough so in the mean time we will post a sneak peek to our social media – we would love for you to follow along.
